To show a good understanding of both under and over steer relative
to both speed and a throttle position 80
To demonstrate the ability to counter extreme over steer 75
Plan
To assess Driver number one on the drive out to Chengshin test track and assess Driver number two on the return trip.
To carry out exercises to achieve the stated objectives.
To repeat day one to achieve a higher level of methods, techniques and practical understanding.
Aspects to work on
Next lesson-time and date

A Excellent
B Good
C Needs attention
Comments and conclusion
Drove well over the two days. Observe and plan earlier. Use shoulder checks more when joining motorways. Try not to change lanes if not necessary as u increased msk. Take note of vehicles in front and their brake lights. Well done.

Proving Ground Training
Name: Kevin
Weather: Dry & bright
Understanding Under/Over steer
Ability to drive round circle with fixed throttle and no steering inputs
Ability to steer the car accurately with throttle with fixed steering
Show a technical understanding of under/over steer
Over steer inducement and correction
Correct speed of approach and lift off point
Ability to negotiate the circles circuit in a smooth controlled manner
Very good controlled nature-safe. Needs to take over steer to a higher plain to progress. Needs more practice on circuits for co-ordination/ feedback.
High Speed emergency stops
Speed of reaction input to ABS stop
Correct method of pedal application
Motor car stability
Brake stability (pedal release)
Good reactions, good method. Remember to release the brake pedal when the brakes have had heavy use.
Slalom
Smoothness
Precision
Use of throttle
Steering inputs (method)
Speed
Good performance need more practice to gain confidence in self and car. Explore the limits in a safe environment.
High speed extreme maneuver, lane change
Timing of braking and steering inputs
Speed of reaction input to braking
Correct method of pedal application
Correct steering input level
Overall control through the maneuver
Well done. Remember to keep the brake on until you are in a straight line or stopped.
High speed cornering
Correct sequence of actions
Accuracy of turn in, clip/ Apex and Exit
Smoothness of steering
Understanding and ability grew throughout the two days. More practice will help to make second nature.
Over steer control
Understanding of how over steer is created
Ability to correct lift off over steer
Ability to correct with acceleration
Ability to correct by use of brakes
Learning all the time, confidence and ability will grow with practice.
Under steer control
Understanding of how under steer is created
Ability to correct
Ability to use to advantage
Ability to feel for steering grip once it has been lost
Done well but needs more practice.
